Results of the II All-Ukrainian Selection of Ambassador Wines 2023

On August 15-16, in Kyiv, at Ukrvinprom, this year’s All-Ukrainian selection of “ambassador” wines from national producers took place within the framework of the project “Ukrainian Wine – a Part of the World Cultural Heritage of Wine La Cité du Vin” in Bordeaux, France. The award ceremony and announcement of the results were held on 17th August  the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine named after Hennadii Nadolenko at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The selection has been a key event in supporting and promoting Ukrainian winemaking. A total of 74 samples were submitted from all over Ukraine and evaluated by a panel of 12 members of the Tasting Committee, including representatives from the Association of Ukrainian Sommeliers and industry experts. The tasting was conducted blindfolded under the vigilant supervision of representatives from the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the State Tax Service, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Wine Institute Research Center to ensure strict adherence to quality standards and oenological practices.

The best were selected, comprising 20 wines from 13 producers, who have earned the official status of “Ambassadors.” These wines will be additionally presented to members of the Association of Foreign Journalists in Paris. Here are the winning wines and their respective scores:

The selection was organized and carried out by the Ukrvinprom Corporation, the official partner of the Wine Culture and Wine Civilizations Foundation, which manages the La Cité du Vin center.

The event received support from central executive authorities, including the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Intellectual Property Office, and Innovation Centers, among others.
